Kohler Marine, manufacturer of diesel and gasoline marine generators for a wide range of pleasure and commercial craft applications, announced its participation in the Hermione-Lafayette Voyage 2015. This historic voyage includes an Atlantic crossing as well as a tour of the eastern United States by an authentic reproduction of the Hermione, the 18th century frigate that carried the Marquis de Lafayette to America in 1780 with news that France was sending more than 5,000 troops to help fight the British.
Deep inside the wooden hull of the Hermione, three Kohler Marine generators are among the limited modern machines incorporated into the ship’s design for enhanced safety and comfort. A 300 kW and a 400 kW generator provide electrical power to two propellers (pods), which are utilized for port maneuvering as well as to help guard against no-wind conditions at sea. An 80 kW generator is also on board and delivers continuous power for the ship’s electronics.

The Importance of Clean Diesel Fuel Supply for Generator Systems
This Information Sheet discusses the importance of maintaining a clean supply of fuel to your diesel generator system with particular emphasis on engines incorporating the higher fuel injection pressures.
Kohler is pleased to announce the release of the new Power Solutions Center (PSC). The PSC has been developed with your input and your request for an improved sizing and specification tool. We have also incorporated additional tools to make the job of sizing and specifying a power system easier.
The PSC is Kohler’s all-new, user-friendly spec and sizing program. An innovation so advanced, it will change the way power systems are specified.
Back in 1925, the Kohler automatic electric generator played a critical role in the advancement of night mail. Before GPS, beacons provided beams of light to help chart the course for pilots flying through the night. These beacon generators had to be reliable under varied climate conditions, over long periods of time, and with minimum maintenance.
