Recognizing that generator technicians had no formal achievement recognition program until 2014, the EGSA Technician of the Year Award is EGSA's way of honoring and showcasing the on-site power industry’s first responders and unsung heroes, who determinedly give their time and attention to the power generation systems and packaged engineered solutions around the globe.
Generator technicians are responsible for servicing, maintaining, selling parts and providing customer assurance. In our industry, technical knowledge is respected and expected, but the ability to think and act under pressure is what separates elite technicians from the shade tree mechanic. These pieces of equipment are sensitive and complex systems that require expertise to keep the power on! The systems a technician works on can sometimes be the difference between a life or death situation.
This year, Loftin Equipment Co. is proud to announce two of our very own technicians, Dave Brown and Shane Hendley were among the top 5 techs to be considered for this prestigious award.
Dave Brown
Dave Brown, one of our 2018 semi-finalists for the EGSA TOYA is a perfect reflection of the Loftin Equipment company values. “The definition of an expert is ‘a person who has a comprehensive and authoritative knowledge of or skill in a particular area’ and when it comes to power generation, Dave Brown is nothing short of an expert! While assuredly there are techs in the field that equal Dave’s skill set, we think none surpass it,” says Adam Jusaino, Service Manager who was responsible for Dave’s nomination.
Shane Hendley
Shane was selected as one of the 5 finalists in this years EGSA Technician of the year award. As an 18 year veteran tech he is one of Loftin’s finest. Making the final cut of the final 5 is a huge accomplishment. As per the selection committee he scored extremely well and was one of the top techs selected in the final 5. There were more than double the amount of techs submitted this year over last year. Which makes these result even more impressive.
Kohler Wins Product of the Year Award
The KOHLER KD Series, the company’s highly-regarded lineup of

Consulting-Specifying Engineer magazine. The publication’s annual Product of the Year competition
identifies the best new products in twelve key industrial categories and then lets readers vote for their

Loftin Equipment Co. has broken grown on our Houston branch expansion to support our customers transition to Tier 4 Final.
The new expansion will include:
10,000 sq ft building
10,000 lb. overhead crane
Fully equipped fabrication/welding room
Paint booth
Engine dyno testing room
Built in air compressor with piping to each engine upfit station
10 separate engine build stations putting out a maximum of 40 engines/day
Engine offices and restrooms
Drive through service bay for loading and unloading
In ground oil/water separator and drain system
