Loftin Equipment Co. is pleased to announce the opening of our brand new facility in Midland, TX.
The new facility, located at 2907 WCR 129 Midland, TX 79706, is 7,500 sq. ft. on 1.26 acres and will be serving the West Texas market offering new unit Kohler and Scania sales, service, parts, and rental generators.
In addition to its Midland facility, Loftin Equipment also has 3 other locations in Texas including; Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.
We will be scheduling an Open House for customers and team members in the Fall, so stay tuned for future announcements.
Industrial Application Engineer New Hire - Dave Loba
Loftin Equipment Co. is pleased to announce the hiring of Dave Loba to the position of Industrial Application Engineer for the Power Generation Group.
Originally from Michigan, Dave studied electrical engineering at the University of Michigan and proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant for the 1849th Electronics Installation Squadron. The USAF allowed Dave the opportunity to travel worldwide, providing installation and repair services for critical heavy radar and cryptographic equipment.
Dave will be engaging with the engineering community through effective lunch and learns and engineering visits to supply all the necessary technical information for power generation equipment, including the sizing, specifying, and application of the products available at Loftin Equipment Co.
Dave has 19 Years of Power Generation Experience, 16 Years Experience in the Power Transmission and Distribution Industry and technical assistance and sales with medium and high voltage transformers,
switchgear, relay protective platforms, and low voltage switchgear assemblies.
Jim Schaffer Appointed Loftin Equipment Co. Risk Manager
As part of our on-going effort to improve safety we are actively seeking 3 to 4 volunteers to join safety committees in each branch. Anyone who is interested in shaping the safety program is encouraged to participate. Members from ALL departments are encouraged to participate and will receive OSHA 10 along with OSHA 30 training. Members will also be making key recommendations when it comes to things like PPE selection, evacuation planning, job site safety inspections, safety program content, and rewards. Space is limited so if you’re interested please let your manager know or reach out to Jim Schaffer jschaffer@loftinequip.com.
To make the role of Risk Manager successful, it begins by listening to each of you while working with the safety committees to continuously improve upon our work place safety programs and equipment. The goal is to help everyone stay as healthy as the first day you joined this great team by providing you with the equipment and training you need to be successful. Please reach out to Jim any time if you have concerns or recommendations, together I’m sure we can find a solution.
In an effort to streamline the way we Order, Store, and Distribute PPE all branches will be receiving Safety Centers. The centers “Safety Cabinets” will be inventoried monthly and restocked automatically by a third party. Safety Committee members and managers will issue these items as needed to ensure we always have the equipment we need to work safely.

New Kubota Engines Gain Early Praise
Kubota Engine America Corp.'s (KEA's) presence in the gas compression industry has earned the company favorable reputation among its distributors and end users.
That's why KEA turned to those same people when it announced the launch of its new spark-ignited natural gas engines last year. The company wanted to ensure its latest offerings were suitable for those who would use them the most.
"I am extremely excited about the new engines, "said Philip Juneau, regional sales manager, KEA. "I have seen these engines work for many years in a variety of diesel applications. I am very pleased Kubota decided to invest resources in developing such a premium product for this industry."
The new family of KEA dual-fuel natural gas engines - models WG2503 and WG3800 - has a similar structure to the company's diesel counterparts. The engines' flexibility and multiple fuel types (natural gas and liquid propane) allow them to be used in many industrial applications.
